[Note: Is this the correct John Wall? I think so - he's enumerated in Giles Co in 1840 - mbg]

Deeds proven & C. at office in Dec. 1837, p. 109:
A Deed of Trust from John Wall to John P. Taylor one mare, three beds and furniture, Fifty Barrels of Corn, one Bull, one Heifer, __den head of Hogs, and twenty three heads of Sheep was produced before me at my office and the Execution therof acknowledged by the said John Wall this 19th day of December A.D. 1837

[Is the same John Wall as above? If so, he may not be the correct John - mbg]

Other records in 1838 mention Susan P. Walls; Jesse Wall, minor orphan of Jesse Wall and George Wall.

Owned 71 acres on Pigeon Roost Creek.
Died intestate.

The Man and Family of George W. Wall, as Records State. by Sherry Taylor - sent to mbittickg in July 2008. Says in part:
"In the 1850 Tennessee Census, George lived in the household as a son of John Wall age listed to be 50 years and known as farmer in the 12th District of Giles County, Tennessee. The complete list of family includes: John, head of household, age 50, Charlotte (Martha) wife, keeping house, William, Henry, John Jr., Nancy Jane, Charlotte, Malinda, George age 7 years, Zachariah, and Lydia Ann. John Henry Wall, father of George, owned a tract of land in the small community of Pigeon Roost in Giles County, Tennessee. The value and size of this property was as 71 acres at $10.00 an acre. The family lived in a two room log house...
In September 19, 1860 John Wall created a deed of trust to John C. Walker and John C. Brown for a parcel of land lying in the 7th Civil District of Giles County containing 80 acres of land. The condition of the Trust was that John Wall was in debted (sic) to Walker and Brown. (Deed Book AA-596)
Next we find a court case of John C. Walker et al vs George Wall et al filed in Giles County Court in the year of 1866. The case states that John Walls died intestate, at his home in Giles County, Tennessee in the year of 1861. He left a family as follows: His widow, unnamed in this document who died between 1861 and 1866, and children, George, Zachariah T., Lydia Ann wife of Thomas Overby, and Nancy Jane Wall. John Wall Jr. died after his father and left a widow, Perlina War Wall and 2 sons, John H. and Andrew J. Wall. Another son of John Henry Wall was named Henry and at the time of this court case Henry was already deceased. (File Box W-15 Case 2360 1866)."

If John Wall had a wife in 1861 when he died - she isn't enumerated with him in 1860 so he must have married after the census. If the John K Wall in 1860 is correct then Charlotte Martha Bittick Wall died between 1850-60.
