William second married, Martha F. Hicks on 14 February 1856 in Williamson Co, Tennessee.

It is not known if William had children. None are found in the census records.

Received of William D. Bittick forty (illegible) dollars and 25 cents it being one half the appraised value. He says he ____ been order in _____ seven? has not paid it before this time 23 Jan. _____. One flee bitten grey mare with collar marks on the shoulders 14 1/2 hands high 8 or 9 years old value at $92.50.

Died Mar 22, 1907

Information from Mr. Galbreath at Galbreath Market. The monument was made of Italian granite. Bittick was a Spanish American War Hero. He had no family and his estate went to his housekeeper. After estate settled the remaining money was left to purchase the stone. Quite distinctive and in excellent condition. 11-02-02
