Notes for Allen W. Blevins

Carter Blevins parents, Armstead Blevins and Keturah Carter, were divorced in 1821. Armstead was a War of 1812 Veteran and shortly after the War, in about 1814, he deserted his family. Keturah Carter Blevins filed for divorce in 1814 but it took 7 years for the divorce to become final in 1821. Armstead Blevins was born about 1775, son of Dillon Blevins and Ann Armstrong. Sometime in the 1830s - Keturah moved to Hempstead Co, Arkansas along with sons, Hugh Armstrong Blevins and Carter Blevins. Hugh A. Blevins founded the town of Blevin, Arkansas. The grandson mentioned Keturah's will, Allen W. Blevins, is the son of Hugh A. and Emily D. Wakefield. Allen W. Blevin was an attorney in Hempstead Co, Arkansas.
