25 August 1885: John E. Caruthers and M.A. Caruthers sell the above land to John McGee. $90.00 Undivided 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of NE quarter of sec 5, Twp NS, Rng 22W. [M.A. Caruthers is Mary Alice]

5 August 1885: Jno E. Caruthers & M.A. Caruthers petition to be declared of legal age. They are minors age 19 and 17 and they have neither parents or guardians, they inherited by the death of their father a contain tract of land, 18 acres, and they wish to dispose of it. Petition is granted.
