Marriage Bond of John McDaniel and Martha Caruthers:
Know All Men By These Presents:
That, we, John mcdanald & John Corether(s) are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency, the Governor of Kentucky, in the sum of fifty pounds Current money of Kentucky, to the payment of which, well & Truly to be made to said Governor or his successors; we bind our selves, our heirs &c. Jointly & Severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our Seals & dates this 32st day of May 1797.
The Conditions of the above Obligation is such that: Whereas there is a Marriage Intended between the above bund John Mcdonald & Martha Corethers for which a License has Issued; now if there be no Lawful Objection or Cause to Obstruct the Said Marriage, then this obligation to be Void or Else to remain in full force & virtue.
