Notes for Thomas Hopkins Wolf

Among the first Burnet Texas settlers was the Jacob Wolf family. Jacob Wolf was born in Virginia and moved with his family to Warren County, Tennessee where he married Miss Adaline Faulkner. The Wolf's came to Burnet County in the early 1850s and were among the first to make an application for Texas public lands. Others coming to Dobyville to make there homes were W.T. Wolf and wife, Elizabeth, (son of Jacob). The Thomas Hopkins Wolf family was in the state several years before coming to the community where they homesteaded on a ranch and were very helpful in building the community. Mrs. Wolf was the former Clarissa O'Hair prior to her marriage to Thomas Hopkins Wolf. He assisted children of the community by teaching some of them practically all of the 'book learning' they ever received.
