On 21 April 1848 the Court appointed Tilman Blaylock as guardian of the minor heirs of G. W/M. Smith, deceased.
Spring 1852 - George Smith died while in the service of the United States as a soldier in Mexico, leaving his widow, Brazille, and _____ Lydia, Mira Jane and Andrew Smith. Court orders that Washington Mace, the uncle of the children be appointed guardian.
Deed Book 3, p123 - I, Polly Smith, for the love and goodwill I have for them give unto Brasil/Brasley Smith, John Smith, Lydia Smith, Elmira Smith, Jane Amanda Smith, Land on Roses Creek, part of which I now live on. It being 50 acres of a 100 acre tract granted to Polly Smith. Wife and heirs of G. W/M. Smith, deceased.
