Jane[?] Bittick was Born the 23[?] Day of February in the year 1788

John Riddle: Pioneer Settler:
... The (1st) wife of John Riddle (Sr.), name unknown, is believed to have died between 1820 and 1830.
In 1831 he married (2nd) Nancy Jane Biddix (b. Feb. 23, 1788), as appears from a notice in the Rutherford County newspaper, NC Spectator:
"Nancy Biddix, 43, married John Riddle, 70, on February 26, 1831, both were from Buncombe County."
Nancy was the daughter of John Biddix and Hannah Blunt.

John died in April of 1844 and the location of his grave is not known. By the time of the 1850 Yancy Census, Nancy Biddix Riddle is in the household of her brother, Jesse Biddix.
