Daughter of Starks Cockrill and Barbara Cotton

St Louis Genealogical Society, Vol XX 3, p67:
Items from the Jefferson County Leader, Hillsboro, Missouri 1867:

30 August 1867 - Order of Publication:

Christopher COCKRILL plaintiff
against OLIVER CROMWELL, WINEFRED CROMWELL, minor children of Mrs Cromwell, formerly COCKRILL, and Newton M. Cockrill, Alton Cockrill,
John E. Brown and wife Susan, formerly Cockrill - the last four non-residents,
Mary A. Cromwell, wife of John W. Cockrill dec'd and
Mary Louise Cockrill, minor child of John W.;
George Julius Michaels, husband of Mary J. Michaels, formerly Cockrill,
Starks Julius Michaels and Charlotte E. Michaels, children and minor heirs of said Mary J. Michaels, dec'd.

After Almeda's father, Starks S. Cockrill, died in Cistern, Fayette Co, Texas on 05 May 1862 - it appears that Almeda's brother, Christopher, sued the heirs of their father's estate.

Oliver Cromwell and Winefred Cromwell are children of Oliver Cromwell and Almeda Cockrill who had died before her father's estate was settled.

Newton M. Cockrill and Alton Cockrill are half-brothers of Christopher Cockrill. Their mother was Hannah Williams Cockrill who died before her husband. They lived in Fayette Co, Texas when their father died.

Susan, formerly Cockrill, and John E. Brown. Susan is Christopher's sister. They lived out of state when her father died.

John W. Cockrill died in 1863 leaving his wife, Mary A. and their daughter Mary Louise as heirs.

Mary J., formerly Cockrill, md George Julius Michaels and is likely a sister to Christopher. Mary J. Michaels died before her father's estate was settled leaving Starks Julius and Charlotte E. Michaels as her heirs.
