Dear Mr. Bittick:

Enclosed is a copy of order of court and bond. You sign the bond with your surety and both acknowledge before a Notary Public who will fill out the blank acknowledgement with name of state and county, your name and surety on it. Return bond to Judge W.L. Halbrook, Salem, Missouri. No other person signs your bond but you and surety. Bonds are all alike. The heirs of James T. Bittick are made responsible for amounts received by his heirs and Mrs. Syler’s heirs for amounts received by them, but no other. Albert W. Bittick makes his own bond. You can keep the order of court. Checks will be mailed immediately on receipt of bond.

I do not think there will ever be any trouble over claims of Perry Bittick or heirs, as John F. Bittick had not heard from him for 40 years.
Yours truly
Wm. P. Elmer
Attorney
Salem, Mo.
