Notes for Prudence Reed
It has long been thought, by Mary Gallano and other researchers, that Prudence's maiden name could be Reed. Also in the family of one of her great-great granddaughters, there is a tradition that Prudence's maiden name was Reed. While there don't appear to be any bible records or contemporaneous records which give her maiden name, "Prudy Reed" is listed as the mother of Amanda Bittick Huntsman on her death certificate. 3. 1840, P. Bitticks in the1840 Gasconade Census must be Prudence, the widow Bittick. John R. claims on the 1880 census she was born in NC, on the 1900 in KY.
4. 1850, Athens Twp, Gentry Co, Missouri, Prudence and some children with her second husband, Joseph Hawkins
