He was named in honor of General William Henry Harrison, President of the U.S. General Harrison Jones was born 26 May 1844 in Madison Co, Kentucky and died 21 December 1926 in Morgan Co, Missouri. General Harrison Jones was an uncle to John Lewis Jones who married Martha Cole, Sarah's sister. John L. and Martha were my great grandparents...General Harrison Jones, a brother-in-law, three of his brothers, his father, and a nephew all fought for the Union during the Civil War. I doubt there were too many families where three generations took part.
