Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Ann Hawkins, who died at her home northeast of Stanberry, last Tuesday morning, were held last Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Union Baptist Church, northeast of Stanberry, conducted by the Rev. Jas. B.W. Moore.
Following the funeral service, the remains were taken to the Hall Cemetery for internment. The funeral was in charge of the Pennington Undertaking Company.
The following obituary has been furnished this office:
Eliza Ann Stafford, daughter of Samuel and Emily Stafford, was born in Gentry County, Missouri, May 25, 1852, and departed this life on November 25, 1930, at her home northeast of Stanberry, at the age of 78 years and 6 months.
She was converted at the age of 16 at the schoolhouse across the road from the Union Baptist Church, and united with the Baptist Church, later joining the Christian Church, but she always attended the Union Baptist Church.
She was married to James Hawkins on May 3, 1870, and to this union, seven children were born, three of them died in infancy. Those living are Belle Phillips and Hershel Hawkins of Los Angeles, CA; Ernest Hawkins, Hartford, Kansas, and Mrs. Green Cogdill, Stanberry.
Mr. Hawkins died on October 27, 1920. Besides the children, she leaves the following brothers and sisters, John, Sam, and Otis Stafford of Albany, Jane Stafford and Mrs. Mary A. Hawkins of Stanberry. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hawkins suffered a fall about two years ago and her right hip was broken.

Among those from a distance who attended the funeral last Wednesday of Mrs. Eliza Hawkins, were Mrs. Everett Johnson and Gaylord Hawkins of St. Joseph, Ernest, John, and Ernest Hawkins, Jr., of Hartford, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Felts of Callao, MO.
