pg 77: Samuel Chearis on Feb 12, 1838 was married to Lucinda Votaw in Washington County, daughter of Elijah Votaw? [dau/Ruben Issac Votaw?]

pg 231: February 12, 1838, Lucinda Votau (who must have been a sister [to Elijah]) was married to Samuel Chearis, in Washington County.

Samuel owned 4,600 acres in present day Anderson County Texas. And, received a large land grant for his participation in the Texas Revolution.

Samuel and Lucinda Votau [Votaw] married on 2 December 1838 in Washington Co, Texas.

Samuel A. Cheairs was elected Sheriff of Milam Co, Texas in February 1838 and served until sometime in June 1839 when he died. They had three [4] children: [Adeline], Susan, Green and Samuel, Jr who all became wards of his father's estate after his death.
[something is wrong - if they married in Feb 1838 and he died in June 1839 - how did they have 3-4 children born between 1839-1845? Must have died between 1844-49.]
