From family papers:
"Milton Taylor Bittick and Nancy Elizabeth Sims were married at Pollia Sims on the 9th day of January in the year of our Lord 1876 in the presence of A. J. Pain. Signed: R. J. Beesley, Bart and Jane Hicks." from Mary Loomis Bittick.

In 1870 census Mary "Polly" Sims and children were living in Wood-Richland Townships of Texas County which became Douglas County after 1872. In 1880 census, Mary and family were in Clinton Township, Douglas County, MO. Therefore, Taylor and Nancy were probably married in Douglas County. R. J. Beesley is probably Robert Beasley/Beesley, husband of Milton Taylor's sister, Mary. Jane and Bart Hicks were probably Nancy's sister and brother-in-law, Hannah Jane Sims and Joseph Calaway "Barton" Hicks.

She was married to Taylor Bittick on the 9th day of January 1876. To this union, 8 children were born. Her husband and 2 children precede her in death.

The ones left to mourn her departure are Rosabell McClanahan, Truman, Arkansas; Caroline Haddock, Gordon, Nebraska; Jim Bittick, Parma Idaho; Jeff Bittick, Shamock, Oklahoma; Will Bittick, Caldwell, Idaho; and Sim Bittick, Cabool, MO. She also leaves 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was truly born of the Spirit of God at age 16 years and joined the Christain Church. She lived a very devoted life to her God. Always rejoicing and praising his name. Her greatest pleasure was to be in the service of her God.

Her many, many friends know nothing but to love Aunt Nancy. She was so kind and loving to all whom she met. Her life stood out as a sign post for Heaven. She will be greatly missed in her home and community but our loss is Heaven's gain.
