This indenture made and entered into this (blank space) day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fiftyfive by and between John R. Bittick and Cyntha Bittick his wife family of the first part and John Walters (?) family of the second part all of the county of Osage and State of Missouri. Witnesseth that for and in coneraenation (?consideration) of the sum of two dollars and fifty cents to them in hand paid the Receipt of Which is hearby acknowledged do hereby grant Bargain sece and convey and confirm unto him the said party of the second part the forecoming desinated land to

[John Walter appears on the ledger of Wherry's Mill (later known as the Pay Down Store) 1844-1847 Osage Co., MO; those using the mill lived in Gasconade, Osage, & Maries County.]
