This license authorizes any Judge, Justice of the Peace, licensed or ordained Preacher of the Gospel or any other person authorized under the laws of this State to solemnize Marriage between John J. Stampfle of Jefferson City, County of Cole and State of Missouri, who is over the age of twenty-one years, and Miss Bertha Bittick of Jefferson City, in the County of Cole and State of Missouri, who is over the age of eighteen years.
Witness my hand as Clerk of the Circuit Court and ex-officio Recorder, with the seal of office hereto affixed at my office in the City of Jefferson, the 7th day of April 1913.

Judge Goodall to Marry John Stampfli and Miss Bertha Bittic
John Stampfli and Miss Bertha Bittick will be married this evening at 6 o'clock at the home of the bride at 307 Walnut Street, Judge W. W. Goodall performing the ceremony.
A supper will be served following the ceremony. They will make their home in this city.

HIRAM BITTICK DIED AT HOME YESTERDAY

Was Former Member of Company L Here and Served in The World War

The death of Hiram Bittick, twenty-eight years old, occurred at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon [18Jan1923] at the family home, 516 East Ashley Street. Mr. Bittick’s death resulted from meningitis of the brain.
During his life Mr. Bittick served in the recent World War and was a member of Company L. He was formerly a resident of Callaway County, but has been residing here for several years. His many friends regret to hear of his death.
The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bertha Stampfli, one sister, Miss Eulah Bittick and four brothers, Ray, Cecil, and Famous Bitticks. [Only 3 listed, Frank Mark was omitted as the 4th.]
The funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon [21Jan1923].

according to Jeff City Nat’l Cem records - he died and was buried on 18Jan1923, but the obit clearly states the funeral service will be on Sunday, 21Jan1923. So, unless they buried him first and then had the services a couple days later - something is wrong. mbg]

Mrs. Stampfli dies at age 96
Mrs. Bertha A. Stampfli, 96, of 297 W. Cedar Street, died today at Charles E. Still Hospital.
Mrs. Stampfli was the daughter of John [Jacob] and Sarah Salish [Salyers] Bias. She was married to Hiram Bettick, who died in 1905. She was then married to John Stampfli, who died in 1962.
Mrs. Stampfli was a member of the First Baptist Churc
Survivors include: one son, Cecil Bettick, Russellville; one daughter, Mrs. Eula Reno, Jefferson City; one sister, Mrs. Francie Robinett, Jefferson City; and five grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Freeman Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Virgil Waters will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Stampfli, Mrs. Bertha A., age 86, of 207 W. Cedar, Jefferson City passed away early Monday morning Oct. 27th at Charles Still Hospital. Mrs. Stampfli will lie in state at the Freeman Mortuary after 2 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of the funeral service which will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Freeman's Chapel. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Waters officiating. Freeman Mortuary.
Note: Parents were Jacob Bias and Sarah Salyers
